#pb10for10

Today is August 10th, which means it is time for #pb10for10. Educators across the country post their top 10 picture books. The books can be personal favorites, themed lists favorite authors, or any combination in between! It means I must get ready to visit my local bookstore and Amazon account! I can never have to many picture books!

  1. What a WONDERful list!!! I love what you included. I've read them all except #6 and #10, so I'll be putting those on my TBR list. :-) Steve Jenkins is one of my favorite nonfiction children's writers. Every book he writes evokes wonder! I included #8 on my list - I've seen it on several lists - it's such a great book! I read WONDER aloud for the first time 3 years ago, and it was my favorite response ever - they LOVED it!

    1. Wonder is a great book to spark conversation and there are so many lessons within it. R.J, Palacio has books written from the perspectives of the other characters. There is also "365 Days of Wonder" with a WONDER quote for each day. A great idea for student reflections or to start the day. Thanks for visiting my blog! Happy reading!

  2. As I embark into a new job (k-3 classroom with an inquiry/steam/maker/younamethebuzzword focus wonder will play a huge role in a our day to day adventures. I am excited to explore many of the books you have on this list that I am not yet familiar with. Thank you!

  3. This was a pricey post for me too--had to go order several of these titles right away! I'm teaching a course in creativity this coming semester and am looking for picture books that will inspire wonder. Such a terrific list!
